I'm pretty sure it wouldn't even run at the normal idle speed as a V4. But you can pull plug wires on 1, 4, 6, & 7 to see.

Default plugs

pulling the plugs wouldn't have the same effect as it actually shuts off fuel injection as well...

but I agree, I don't think you'd have a smooth idle with a V4 pushing a V8. not to mention idle uses very little fuel... and you'd need V8 the second you need to move again...

I may have suggested this before, but 'modes' for this setup would be a possible solution.

"eco" "normal" and "off"

where eco would maximize MPG at the expense of smoothness or power, but since your in eco, you would know this.

normal... what it is now basically.

off, Never switch to V4 because I love burning gasoline dammit!

Yeah cuz besides cutting the spark and fuel, it also disables the valves.

Tidbit: if it stays in V4 for ten minutes, it goes back to V8 to even out the block cooling.

Default Good News..

WELL, earlier this week, i received a call from the dealer stating my extended warranty decided to accept the claim and decided to change the motor. The warranty company was getting a motor shipped in rather than using JK Chevrolet i guess.. They did also say it would be a rebuilt motor ( WHAT DO I CARE THO? ::shrugs:
They stated not only did the lifters fail, there was scarring in the camshaft, (whatever that means)
I think after this, im going to get a programmer. I want to see if there is a function to disable the afm!! I think im saved. We shall see when the bill comes out tho.. I should have my bur anytime now..
