Default Added too much oil

I changed my oil today (07 Tahoe) and added about a quart or a little more too much oil. It is showing about an inch above the highest mark, a little more than the distance between the marks. It runs fine and doesn't seem to have any problems, but I was wondering if anyone knows for sure if it is ok to run excess oil. Thanks.

Unscrew the filter and dump the oil out of it, you may have to do this a few times to get 1 qt out. (replace the filter start the motor let run a few seconds etc)

All good mechanics will agree that it is harder on an engine to have a quart too much oil then a quart too little.
