Default adding RKE to 02' Tahoe??

I just picked up an 02' Tahoe that has power windows/door locks, but no remote controls came with the vehicle. I called the dealer and they said that if the sticker in the glove box has code "AUO" then the car is equipped with the RKE.

Well, mine does not.

Total nOOb Question here: Can I easily add the RKE to the vehicle, and has anyone done this themselves?

TIA,

KJR

You should be able to add an aftermarket RKE to your vehicle pretty easily and can also get one that has a remote start feature as well.
One I used on my 97 Tahoe was made by http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/
It was decent but you can find others at any tint and alarm shop near you or at your local Auto parts store... I got mine at Sams Club.

in2pro,

Thanks for the info. Those are much less costly than a full blown alarm system which I don't need.

I had the same problem when I picked up my 2001 Tahoe. I bought the Clifford 2way pager with remote start. Still cheaper than factory with more options! I've had it for about 3 years now with no issues!
