Default Aftermarket alarm and HID

I have a Python 991 security and remote started installed on my 2007 Tahoe. At dusk, the headlights flashes when I arm, disarm or remote start the vehicle. Conversely, this doesn't occur during daytime because there is light and it's bright outside.

I now want to install HIDs but I'm concerned that if said flashing were to occur with the HIDs it might not last long. I asked the shop that installed the alarm system if it was possible at all to configure the alarm so that it only flashes the parking lights or the DRL. I was told that it's not possible because the connection between the alarm and the light is done through the vehicle's computer.

1. Does the installler know his stuff or was he making that stuff up?

2. Is there a way to disable auto on-headlights?

Thanks guys!

Without getting the manual out I'll say you might run thru the DIC options for flashing w/ various different scenarios. As far as disabling the auto on feature, I don't think you can do that.

My basic understanding of alarm systems is that you should be able to disconnect the wire from the alarm harness that would tell the lights to come on or flash.
The wiring diagram for the system should state which wire it is...
That said you could probably wire that wire up to a relay and have that relay turn on which ever lights you would like....
Or leave it disconnected so no lights are flashed at all...
