The air bag warning light goes on and off when it feels like it. The seat is empty. so today I put some weight on the right side of the seat and the light stayed off. How can I fix this.

have a professional repair this. airbag, or in your case a passenger presence system faults requires a full function scan tool and air bag load tools.

 

Thank you. It sound like that will be the best move. Hopefully I can find someone that wont cost me an arm and a leg.Trying to sale my truck and wont get much for it in this shape. Would you know about what it should cost??

 

...not without knowing the cause of the problem. if you must fix this; I would go to a dealer (independent shops do not have load tools) and authorize 1 hour diagnostic time to find the source of the problem. This probably will cost $130. Then they will give you a quote for the parts and labour to complete the repair.

imo have the buyer fix it...give them $500 off the price.

 

Ok thanks. $ 130.00 is the going rate for dealers cost no wounder they are still in business.My friend says it might be under a recall if so that would be great. He is going to call a locale dealer around here and find out.

phone any dealer, Ask them to perform a recall search for your vehicle...provide them the vin.
