Another defogger question 2007 Sub
Rear window defogger fell off..again. Dealer said they couldn't reattach and would need to replace the entire window ($657 + labor)! Found a glass guy who was able to attached the wire, and connectivity with the wires on the glass was good. Still defogger would not work. Replaced a burned out fuse. Still defogger would not work. Is there another solution besides replacing the window. Hate to spend $1000 if there is another problem at play here. Seems to me if there is connectivity on the window itself, that replacing the window wouldn't solve the problem. Ideas?

You might have a broken wire from window to the dash switch. Use a multi meter to test that. And test the switch. If the fuse keeps blowing then there is a short some were.

I just had this issue. Permatex has a rear window defroster attachment kit. It costs about $15 at advance auto parts. It took me about 10min to reattach the tab. Permatex also has a video with detailed instructions on their website. I have not had a chance to test it yet but with some snow on the way tomorrow I will get a good opportunity too.

I placed mine right above the previous location. This allowed more than enough slack in the cord. Once we get temps above ten degrees I am going to hook a voltage meter up to it and ensure there is a good connection.
