Default Approach lighting?

How do you turn off the approach lighting? I hate the fact that every time I hit the unlock on the remote, every light on the outside comes on. There is a button to the right of the steering wheel where you can access the options for the approach lights, but I have been unsuccessful in turning them off. Any ideas?

"approach light" controls: see next post for others...

On the dash to the right of the wheel is the DIC controls. The third one down allows you to scroll through the menu. Press it until approach lighting is in the display were the odometer should be. Once it is displayed, press the check mark. You now can choose the approach lighting setting. Hit the third button down until it says off. Then hit the check mark to choose that. To exit hit the top button.

Let's review:
hit 3rd button (menu) until "approach lighting" is displayed
press check mark
press third button (menu) until "off" is displayed
press check mark
press top button to exit to odometer

Default RE: Approach lighting?

There are two differnet reasons your lights will come on when you unlock. One is approach lighting (only matters if it is dark enough out) Then there is the remote unlock feature. This will cause the lights to come on (or not) as programmed regardless of outside light conditions. Perhaps if the above steps aren't getting you your desired results look at your remote lock & unlock settings.
