Default Auto Dimming Feature

The auto dimming on the drivers side mirror is very fuzzy, looks like double vision. During the daytime, the mirror looks fine. My rear view mirror looks fine, when dimming. Anybody else see that in their mirrors?

Haven't noticed on mine. Always wondered why they elected not to dim the psg side mirror.

Shouldn't be that way. Mines also fine. I'm on my second one (due to a little garage mishap)

Take it in for replacement.

I hate the dimming mirror. Wish I could turn it off.

It can be turned off. I just wish I could default it to off, instead of it resetting itself every time I turn the truck off.

Can you turn off the side mirror dimmer?

It's one of the non-OnStar buttons on the bottom of the rear view mirror.

According to the manual, the feature can be turned off. Says: "Automatic Dimming Mirror Operation - O: Press this button (power button) to turn the automatic dimming feature on or off. The indicator light to the left of the button will turn on to indicate when the feature is on. Once the mirror is turned off, it will remain off until it is turned back on, or until the vehicle is restarted." Seems the rear view mirror dimming controls both the rear view mirror and the drivers side mirror.
I like the feature, just irritating when on freeways in Detroit at night. Too many cars anyway and then the mirror doubles what you see. Thanks for the inputs. Dealer says normal operation. I'm going back for an oil change anyway.

The second Chevy Dealer says this is normal. Very irritating.
