I hate the dimming mirror. Wish I could turn it off.

It can be turned off. I just wish I could default it to off, instead of it resetting itself every time I turn the truck off.

How can it be turned off?

As Rat55 indicated, the far left button that turns the compass on and off, hold it for 6 seconds until the LED next to it goes out. The dimming feature will be off 'till the next time you shut off/start the vehicle.
