auto leveling problem
i have a 2001 chevy suburban with auto leveling problem. what i am looking for is a test procedure for the pressure switch that is located on the air dryer on top of air pump. can i take some ohm readings to find out if this switch is ether open or closed. i do not know if it closes with pressure or opens with pressure. the pump is new and will only turn on if i move the back of car up and down. it will not turn on if car is just sitting there with no air pressure in shocks and car running.

thats what its supposed to do... It is supposed to sit level. All other non auto ride burbs have the rear end sitting high due to strong springs... The auto ride burbs are supposed to ride level all the time... Sounds like your is fine...
i know it is supposed to sit level but the suspension control module is supposed to keep the air shocks filled with air which it is not doing. it only lets pump run for 6 seconds then shuts off. if i drain the air off shocks the pump does not turn back on. the only way i can get pump to turn back on is turn car off wait 15 seconds then start it back up then it will only run 6 seconds and turn back off.
Thats the way our is or was. When the shocks wouldn't air for anything the system ran the pump for ~5 sec and stop. Even though no pressure was made. The system only runs the compressor if there is no pressure as a check. It makes sure that the compressor is working. After it knows its fine, with no load, the system just sits idle. Yours is working just fine...
thanks for that info. maybe i am looking more into it than i need to. i always thought it read air pressure to keep air inflated some what.i still have problem is that the control module does not test run pump when i first start car. it will only turn on if i move rear of car up and down.
