Default Auto running boards acting up

I just bought a 2008 suburban with automatic running boards. Sometimes the passenger side will not come down. Any ideas? Thanks,Randy

Default

Maybe something in there needs to be greased? Or maybe a motor is on its way out?

Default boards

I've read these can be problematic, especially in states w/snow... (due to road salt).

sometimes people disable them if they can't be reasonably priced fixed...

But yea, I'd lay under it while someone opens a door and see what's happening... and go from there.
