I want to add some kick to my '09 tahoe's system, but don't want it to take up massive space, or shatter my ears...

anyone ever hear one of these?

would it be enough to fill a tahoe, or should I get a single sealed 10"

the sealed box would be a tighter bass, but ported 'sounds' louder...

I really like JL stuff, and want a JL amp and sub setup... but the amp says it wants 4 guage wire?! holy crap...

JL's are awesome.. i haven't personal owned that speaker..but i did own a JL w3V2...well 2 of them...they sounded really good.. and with the 4 gauge wire.. yeah most amps need that big of a wire... you should call a local place that deals with this stuff...not best buy or target or anywhere like that..i mean like a car stereo one... if u got one of those LOL... places that only deal with car audio they should have good deals of the wiring instead of paying $100 for a wire kit unless u got the $$$$$$$$$$ also u might check walmart i think they have cheap wiring kits idk the size of the wire tho

this would be plenty; my dad actually had this same sub in a ported box under the back seat in his Z71 truck, you would never imagine an 8' sub would sound that good or loud. It will be even louder in the Tahoe with so much more air space to move. be sure to push it with 250 watts from a quality amp, Kicker or JL for example. If you are worried about space, compare the box size vs a sealed 10' sub. Overall output would be similar you may like the sealed box sound better unless you are heavy into rap.
I have had 2 JL Audio 12w3v2 subs in a sealed box with 700 watts pushing them in my Acura for 6 years and they have not missed a beat

for the length of run you will need I would use 4 guage wire also
good luck!
