Battery issue: 2007 Tahoe LTZ = drains battery fast

After 5 hours of testing cables and trying to find the parasite/drain (at shop), they couldn’t find any issue. That said, the mechanic said he can’t prove it, but thinks I need a new body control module & reprogramming. At about $600 including labor, it could solve my problems or not.
Any thought?
Am I better off getting another brand new battery (the issues are less prevalent in the first 12-18 months of a battery)?
Can anyone recommend a good device to keep in my car in case the battery dies?
thanks!

Throw in a yellow top. I'm going on 137,000 miles and 9 years on mine - no issues. I bought it so I could run the radio for the 2 hours it takes to wash/dry it.
Also throw a jump pack in the trunk, that can be charged from a cigarette lighter - if it only charges when the engine is on, then it should always be ready to rock...
Seems cheesey, but you save $400

if there is a draw causing the problem and your not going to fix it...install a battery maintainer and plug it in everytime your at home.... or install a battery isolater switch that disconnects the battery.

Bad ABS drains battery overnight
I have seen a youtube video that shows a Bad ABS drains battery overnight,
It is an invisible problem to diagnose unless you already know about the issue.
This does not sound like your problem, but it seemed worth mentioning in case someone is looking for battery drain solutions.
