Best way to improve headlights on 1998 Tahoe?
We've got a 1998 Tahoe and the stock headlights are almost worthless. Our other car has HID projectors and they are soooooo much better.
Is there a good HID kit available for the elderly Tahoe? I'd be interested in 4300-6000K lamp color.
Thanks!

I think that it takes 9005 and 9006 bulbs. If so look into getting a set of 9011 and 9012 bulbs. Look up HIR. You ahve to trim the upper tabs to get them to fit but you get almost twice the light. The plugs are the same and the wattage is the same. HID capsules might "work" but the arc will not be in the correct part of the lamp and the light will not go where the engineer wanted it to go.

try the piaa super whites. they work very well.
i have added a set to every truck i have had since 1995. they work great, require no special wiring and last a long time.

okay..
not sure what that's about, but you can report spam via that button thing.
as for the lights, I tried those super bright white bulbs from PIAA? blue package I think... yea they were super bright and all was good... for 3 months.
they burn out ALL THE TIME. no thanks.
according to consumer reports those headlamp restoration products work, it basically sands your headlights new... are they yellow / faded?
Can you add some 'fog' lights?

ill say wet sand the headlights with a very fine sand paper and polish them with some rubing compound and try adding some HIDs i got the cheap $30 from ebay and they work fine..i believe those trucks use the 9005 and 9006 bulbs

i have used these lights exclusively for many years. i replace them as soon as i purchase my trucks. i have yet to replace them in the three years i kept each of my trucks (i loved leasing my trucks)

PIAA lights-NO THANK YOU!
Had PIAA driving lights. Over priced, don't last, usually have to special order the bulbs. For the price of a bulb I could buy a complete set of driving lights. Sure, a cheaper brand but they couldn't be any worse. My supplier told me "don't use them much, they build lots of heat". just what I wanted, lights I couldn't use!!
