Default Body Side Molding

I have a door dinger on my right passenger door. I was wondering if I can replace the body side molding and how difficult is it?

It can be replaced, it is held on by 3M tape, the new molding comes unpainted so it would would need a paint finish applied before the install.

Here's mine with molding and a similar w/o. If you are going to replace the molding and have to get it painted anyhow, then consider the Denali molding. It is the same as the Tahoe but has a thin strip of chrome along the top. The Escalade trim is thinner and is chrome only and will not need to be painted.

I haven't seen the Escalade body side molding and I haven't paid much attention to the Denali either. Im going to search for some pics and see how it looks. The shave look seems like something is missing from the Tahoe. I've consider going to the shave look but it haven't won me over yet. Thanks for the response guys. I love the HOE

the downside to removing the side moulding entirely is that next time you get a door dinger, it will be the door itself that takes the blow. Personally, I'd rather keep replacing the moulding. oh, and it looks better

That is my truck w/o the molding (wow that was a long time ago! Lots of mods since then) I personally did not like it w/o the molding, but at the time the LS came w/o molding and I had to have 9 passenger seating. I was worried I would get a ding with all that exposed sheetmetal. It cost me $200 for painted molding all around.

Was that the price of one piece?

Did you enquire about the Denali or Caddy molding? I was curious about a the price difference.

The price for the molding itself was $39. The labor itself was $85. $40 for the paint material and $45 for the labor. Took them less then 10minutes to put on the molding. I did not enquire about the Denali or Caddy molding becauseI was not thinking about it at the time. But I wish I would have because they look sweet........ maybe a future mod......
