Hey guys. Just got back into the GMT400 family a few months ago. Found a '99 Suburban on ebay about 1,000 mi from where I live. Threw a bid in, won, then did about 2,000 mi round trip to get it back home.

Had good maintenance records. Fairly well maintained by the 3rd owner that had it since '05.

Turns out the condition was a little bit worse than I thought. Very Savable, but more work than I was hoping for.



Then we decided to a big family trip, on somewhat short notice, so I had completely rebuild the steering, front suspension and brakes in less than 2 weeks.



It ended up turning into replacing the entire fuel system as well:



Almost like new again, although the steering is still pretty sloppy considering almost everything is new. Still a lot I want to do to it, but I definitely love the old Suburban!

 

First big trip after all the repairs and it died on the Parkway in NY. Got lucky and it was just a bad Crank Sensor. Between the tow, uber, and NY prices, easily the most expensive sensor I've ever bought.
