Brake squeal...help?
He also said that the fluid was getting/on the parking brake pad which was saturated and not on the rear brake pads. If that is the case would the squeak occur when you press the brakes? Sorry for all of the questions, I'm new to this subject and want to make sure I'm getting the truth from my mechanic.
I just redid my brakes on my 2002 tahoe z71 and i got the squeak just like you. I did the r1 concepts crossed and slotted rotors, hawk pads and the emergency shoes. I redid the whole thing EXCEPT the pad hold down brackets (i think that is what they are called) which i was told will vibrate and cause the squeak. The hold downs did pop off when i put in the new pads but i pushed them back on not thinking of it. I plan to redo the install for the pads with new hold downs. Maybe that can cause it. Picture below of what items im am talking about.
