Default Tips to raise fuel economy for 03 Tahoe

I've got a new job and unfortunately now I have to do a lot of driving. I've got a 2003 Z71 Tahoe with AWD.

I'm looking for some tips on how to increase my fuel mileage. The next major purchase will be shocks and tires. Any suggestions for street tires that'll help with mileage?

TY

Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, etc...offer fuel efficient tires. The more fuel efficient the tires are the lower the roll resistance is.

Try:
Michelin X Radial
Michelin Agility Touring
Sumitomo HTR T4

I remember these being highly rated for "LRR" and are the most fuel efficient, don't remember when I read this though (from Consumer Reports). But they're still good

Keep tires inflated, remove any unneeded extra weight, remove luggage rack cross-rails, and drive like a li'l ol' lady.

what kind of mileage are you gettin now? if it's anywhere around 15 or better, you're doin good. heavy rig with v8 motor does not equal efficient.

i got 15 MPG ave. I'm driving fast. I traded my Audi A6 quattro for 2007 sub. Hmmm, i tried once to make good milage and with my cruise control set up for 72miles/h my ave was 18.7 in 250 miles long trip. Hmmm, not bad.
Also, good oil can give you 0.5 MPG and K&N cold air intake additional 1.5 MPG.

keep highway mph around 60 - 65 if possible. I got 20.12 hand calculated in my 07 Tahoe (2wd though) going 67mph average on a 370 mile trip. I noticed the 4cyl mode came on a lot more going around 65mph or less. when I hit 70 or more it rarely stayed on unless on a perfectly flat stretch of highway.
if you drive a lot around town, there is not much you can do other than the normal stuff - accelerate gently and try to coast as much as possible.
