I'm getting ready to change the front brakes (rotors and pads) on my burb this Tuesday. It's the first time I've done it myself and I'm looking for any tips that might help the process go smoothly. I've watched plenty of videos and read several articles about changing them, but if you guys have any special knowledge that might help me out, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

 

not really, it's a pretty cut and dry procedure. I suggest you use a caliper spreader vs a c-clamp to ensure you compress the piston evenly, but I've used a c-clamp in a pinch.

c-clamp works great, use it with the old pad still in the caliper, no need to buy special tools.
Suggest you bleed out the old fluid when you are done with the pads and rotors.

Don't let the caliper hang by the hose. Use a coat hanger or other piece of wire.
