Default Bug/Rock Shield Mounting Hardware

My mistake...I purchased a used bug shield for my '07 Tahoe. It came with what I thought was the mounting hardware I would need. Unfortunately I have discovered the key thing I'm missing is on my Tahoe...the rivets you put in the hood holes. (sorry not sure of the correct term)

I went the Chevy parts dept but they were unable to help me. The "install kit" they use comes prepackaged with the rivets/screws etc and you can't buy the rivets alone.

So...does anyone know if you can find these somewhere? I've been googling away but not having much luck.

Welcome to the forum.

If you're putting it on to protect the leading edge paint, then 3M body film is a better solution as it is almost invisible.

Just purchased it cause I thought I found a decent deal on a shield in good shape. I even insisted he get me the install screws...not realizing I still needed the expansion rivots on my Tahoe.

had the same issue.
My 09 Tahoe got totaled and I took the bug shield off because I knew I will by an other Tahoe. The bug shield come off but the plastic inserts not.

I went to Lowes. In the special hardware section you can get license plate inserts.
The right size works perfectly and fits in the hole of the hood.
2 for 0.92 dollars
