Default Burb shut off when battery is disconnected

Hello,

Have 06 Suburban - recently it will shutdown when i disconnect the battery, I replace the alternator and the battery is about three months old - Both alternator and battery are good as i have them tested - also tested the old alternator and it is also good - the alternator is not charging the battery- the volt meter keeps going down and the battery symbol shows on my dash -

Please help.. any info is appreciated..

Thank you.

Well - you asked for help: NEVER disconnect a battery while the engine is running on an alternator-equpped vehicle!!! You can damage electrical stuff doing that!!!

Gomer and Goober used that "test" on GENERATOR-equipped vehicles because they were too stooooopid to figure out how to use a voltmeter. But can damage alternator-equipped vehicles.

Any info what can cause it?

I used to disconnect the battery on some very very old vehicles while the engine was still running and not have it shut down. I'm talking 1970's and 1980's my brotha! The first time I saw it happend was with some friggin import and I thought...what a stupid design...they gotta fix that! But I do believe that this is now the way with things. The vehicle could be working as intended. Good luck!

Isn't the purpose of this forum for Suburban folks to help each other? Not everyone is mechanically inclined and come here for help. Maybe calling folks "Stupid" is detrimental to what this forum is all about? If you have some helpful advice, by all means share it, but maybe save your mean-girls attitude for another time & place.

Read the post: "Gomer and Goober used that "test" on GENERATOR-equipped vehicles because they were too stooooopid to figure out how to use a voltmeter."

It was Gomer and Goober who were called "stooooopid".....
