Angry No problem

No need to worry, GM didn't see fit to put one in.

my thoughts exactly - I replace the filter in my '99 Acura every 15k miles and it is very dirty and black...good to know GM thought that it was ok to pass this through to the cabin

You mean my '01 Suburban has two of them, but they no longer put a cabin filter in their Tahoe/Suburbans?

I made a cursory look on my wife's 2004 Tahoe and couldn't find any access cover to remove to change a filter. Didn't check manual yet.

Default 96 Tahoe air

My 96 Tahoe fan blows hard but only gently out vents. Does it have a cabin filter and if so where is it.

No cabin filter... I would check the air intake above the passengers side feet... I had a plastic bag get sucked up and stuck in my 97 Tahoe and had the same results, lots of noise but hardly no air....
