Can I replace just the shock within the strut assembly on a 2013 suburban?

Default Can I replace just the shock within the strut assembly on a 2013 suburban?

I just picked up a 2013 suburban and am going through it to get it setup. I am pretty sure that it needs new shocks all the way around but the fronts are struts. I may need to slightly lift the truck to clear 305/60r18 tires so I figure the most effective way would be to replace the front shocks with the bilstein 5100 shocks that will give me a 1.77” lift. Only question is how difficult is it to replace just the shock? I only see videos online of folks replacing the whole strut.

thx!
