I don't have hands-on experience, but I will relate what my brother-in-law did, not long after their father had passed away, and he was still living in the father's house:

Mrs. Cusser was out-of-state visiting him, and "someone" told him his catalytic converter needed cleaning to pass the emissions test. So e went online and watched a video. Mrs. Cusser called me and told me what he was planning to do, and I told her to tell him NO. Anyway, she flew back the next day, and here is what happened:
1. The vehicle caught on fire; brother-in-law has still not provided any details, such as if he was smoking in the area.
2. That vehicle fire caught the garage on fire.
3. The garage fire caught the house on fire, totally destroyed it.


Anyway, Mrs. Cusser and her sister were each basically cheated out of their third of the family house.
