Default Changed fuel pump, now cant fill tank?

Well I decided to get my 1999 suburban 4x4 running since it had been sitting awhile the fuel pump was dead. Dropped the tank and with the help of my daughter drained out a bunch of fuel to make it easier to move, anyways, put it all back together, fire it up just to see if she will run and she lives.
I live very close to a gas station so was going to quickly run over and put some nice new gas in her. Start pumping and it shuts off! pump a little more and gas spills at my feet, hugh! Help please. Mike

Welcome to the forum.

Just saw on another thread where someone had a similar problem and it was due to a kinked hose when the tank was reinstalled. They had to drop the tank to fix it.

Thanks for the welcome and the reply, I will look again, although I think it may have something to do with antisiphoning. But I will report back what I find, I always hate it when someone joins a forum and asks a question, then leaves you hanging on the outcome.

Ok, I am a bonehead, put a plastic bag in the downspout to stop fumes and anything from falling into it and forgot to remove it, that is what was clogging it up.

Kudos to you jeepmanmike for coming back to follow up, it may seem boneheaded at the time but it may save someone else some time by reminding them...
