changing the engine block 5.3 to 6.0
My dad's got his old denali engine block (06 denali, he dropped in a ls7)....he was talking to me about dropping in his old denali engine block in my tahoe.
Will this void my warranty?
We have a guy where we live who does all the work for us, and i think he uses Hp tuners (dont know if this all makes sense, not to familar with this kind of stuff) and hes going to do all the tuning i guess when we do this.....if its even possible.
What kind of Horsepower jumps will i see with going to this block?

RE: changing the engine block 5.3 to 6.0
Im honestly not, I have no clue about any of this. Stupid??.....i also neglected to add information, that he has a magnacharger that he might give up to get a new one for his ls7....but if hes not, i was curious about just the engine block....it was just his idea...and i was doing some research to fill him in.

For the extra 15hp and 35lb/ft of torque that you will gain it probably is not worth the trouble and you will give up the AFM.
The Denali has a slightly beefier M32 (4L65E) transmission then your Tahoe's M30 (4L60E).
I'm assuming that you mean engine when you say "block"? The 6.0L will drop right in but the computer programming will be tough to get right and all this will for sure void your entire Powertrain Warranty.

RE: changing the engine block 5.3 to 6.0
Alright, thanks for the info. So will his old supercharger mount onto my engine? Or will I need his old engine in order to run that particular supercharger? I know he has swapped it from his original denali motor to the LS7, but he wants to send it back or buy a new one (I guess a larger one or something), but will it be able to swap to mine?
