I have 13 suburban with 3.08 the rear end is bad i have acess to another rear end except the geat ratio is 3.42 if i swap them out will work?

 

Yes, unless for have a 4x4. You have to have the same gear ratio's on both front and rear axles in that case. The 3.42 is a good gear ratio, as close as you can get to a 3.55 which I like the best. 3.73 is what my 98' K-1500 has.

your speedometer + odometer will be off. Transmission won't shift right, and ABS won't work right either. Unless you get your ECM, TCM and EBCM reprogrammed, which is a pretty big deal. The dealership won't do it. I suggest sticking to the same axle ratio to make life easier.
