Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

1. Put socket on plug(mostly by feel, you can't see it)
2. add 1-inch extension to socket.
3. slide ratchet in and remove.

I didn't try a swivel, was too afraid to tweak something.

I had a harder time getting the boot off the plug itself. No room to gain torque with your hands. Twist it off worked best.
What a pain in the butt, I was able to use a 5/8 plug socket with a 1" extension like you said, worked like a charm, yes, lost a bit of blood.
To pull the boot off, I have a pair of tongs used to pull spark plug wires, it greatly helped.

I wish the armchair quarterbacks would not make suggestions unless they have already tried their suggestions.

Your's worked! Jim

Changing plugs on these trucks is a piece of cake.
Try changing plugs on a transverse V6 that the intake manifold has to be removed.

When my daughter's '98 Pathfinder needed new plugs, I read on the Nissan boards how tough the #6 plug was to change. Quite a few folks just changed out the 5 easier to access plugs. Some removed the hood. Anyway, I used a mirror, 2 short extensions, had to use my left hand to seat the socket onto the plug. Took me about 45 minutes, laying across the engine on a towel.
