my SES light came on and checked the codes and came up with p0430 which i know is the catalytic convertor bank 2. I have a couple question maybe someone can answer. The code is always active even when the ignition is on and engine off code it possibly be the sensor. Also it seems that the p0430 code is more common than the code for bank one why is that or is it just me

 

once it is set, it stays till you clear it.

 

You need the cat. You can throw as many sensors at it as you want but the cat is the fix. Also only use a dealer part 75% of the aftermarket ones fail in the first 6 month and you have a cat code again. This is even more critical on California, NLEV or ULEV cars and trucks. We stopped using aftermarket cats on OBDII vehicles at works do to to many come backs.
