Chevy Protection Plan

I don't know what year/engine we're talking about but the last 5.3 I did was around 20hrs labor just for R&R, depending on labor rate that's easily 2k just for the labor. Lifes a gamble you never really know what will happen ha.
Is it your 3/36 that's about to expire or your powertrain 5/100?

the powertrain and emissions warranties cover more than a lot of people expect. I don't know 100% of the details on the extended warranties but most major stuff would be covered by powertrain as long as you do all the maintenance like you should

Has anyone purchased the Chevy protection plan as an extended warranty on their vehicle? My factory warranty expired last month and I received an email offer for this plan. $98 a month for 21 months. Zero deductible and covers the next 3 years or 36k miles.
I'm not normally an extended warranty type of guy but Tahoe's can be expensive to fix and I've not had the best of luck with mine since new.

They have decent reviews, so I'm going to reach out to them. Does anyone have any experience with them or similar dealers?

He recommends putting such money into a separate account, and you'll usually come out ahead. Consumers Reports also says don't do extended warranties on anything.

oem manufacturers do mean time to failure analysis on every component and then set the warranty time under that number. you are betting on your car to fail but the odds are already stacked against you.
if you must buy an extended warranty...only buy a plan from gm. do not let the dealer or anyone sell you a plan from a 3rd party.
