Default chevy tahoe 2007 overheading

hi is it normal for the temperature to go over 210, I have a Tahoe 2007 and when is on traffic the temperature goes close to 3/4 for a min or two and it goes down to 210 again, we change the thermostat and the radiator?

Check the temperature sensor if it is still doing it.

You can also get an infrared thermometer and check the temp at the thermostat housing. If you are relying on the dash gauge, you will find they are not always accurate.

My temp needle doesn’t budge once it’s at operating temp of 210 F. See what your cooling fan is doing. Also, is the temp increase identical before and after the thermostat change?
Does your model have an electric cooling fan? If so, is the fan cycling or on full blast.

My truck is heating up after WE changed the Water Pump and the Thermostat and it still heats up to 210 and 3/4 is that normal. ???

And if belt-driven fan, I'd replace the fan clutch. Your symptoms of running hotter in traffic are very indicative of low air flow through the radiator.

And are ALL your fan shrouds in place?
