low temp thermostat??
Don't run a lower temp t-stat even if you find one.
The new engine controls and electric cooling system is so sophisticated that it does not have the desired effect on 2007 Tahoe's.

Dave,
The superchips has an option to turn the fan on at different/lower temps. Is this an advantage? Should you change it? So far I have just left the fan temp at stock setting, but I wondered what positive/negative effect it would have to run the fan at lower temps?

The only time that you would want to monkey with the fan temp settings is if you were to change the t-stat out for a cooler one otherwise it wont change the operating temp of the engine at all.
okhere's why i thinki should change the thermostat..... in the pcm theres theECT versus timing the hotter the water temp the more the computer backs the timing out of it. the only reason you have a high temp thermostat in there is for emissions reasons.
i was told at a mopar dealership to not change the thermostat on my other car welli didi put a170deg thermostat and my car felt alot better it idled smoother even throttle response was improved..
so has anyone found a thermostat for the 07??? its slightly larger than the 06 for some reason

I won’t speak for Chrysler except to say that; they are not GM. The reason companies do not markets a colder thermostat for the GM Gen-III V8 engines is that the side effects of a cooler t-stat are far worse then any performance gain, with the older carbureted and non-SFI engines the ECM controls were easily fooled with a colder t-stat and the system would simply increase timing and/or richen up the air fuel mixture a bit.
These new systems monitor and control to a vastly (almost unbelievable) greater degree and will assume that something is wrong if the operating temps don't exceed 189F with in a predestined time frame from start-up, some of the side effects are bad fuel economy, poor idle, worse drivability, catalytic converter and engine damage.
