Default code p1345 ckp/cmp correlation problem

Any one have any idea what this would be. I had the AC serviced today and the check engine light was on so I asked them to check the code. They said this was the code and that they would need it a couple hours to diagnose the issue. I really dont want to have to pay another couple hundred just so they can tell me whats wrong. It was already over $200 just to recharge the AC.

I almost forgot... its a 99 1500 4x4

Ccrank sensor/cam sensor code. Any work done on it, like distributor gets moved or taken out and not back in same place? You will need a scanner that has enhanced GM pids that will read cam retard. The distributor can be adjusted to 0 +/- 2 degrees. Fairly tight window. If no work done, then one of those sensors may have gone out.

It's never had the distributor worked on as long as I've owned it. I was also told it may be the distributor gear and that I can check the timing to see if that's it. P

Buy new dist gear from napa, replace gear on your dist and retime. That's how I got mine out. My dist gear teeth were razor sharp, causing the gear to "move" around and pop that light.

You seem very knowledgeable on the ignition advance on the 5.7, and I need help with the P1345 code on my 1996 Tahoe. I cannot find out what the ign adv should be at idle. My Actron engine scanner shows at idle the ign adv to vary from 19 to 21 degrees BTDC. The ign adv tops out at 35 Degrees BTDC at 3k rpms. Is this close or do you know what these readings should be at idle and high rpms? Thanks for your input.

P1345 has nothing to do with ignition advance. You need to look at cam retard (not all tools have it) The spec is read at idle. 0 + or - 2. Anything out of that window is going to set p1345. Every time an adjustment is made you must snap the throttle over 1000rpm for the data to update. You can get more info off this site if you put p1345 in the search at the top of this page, it has been discussed hundreds of times (or at least it seems).
