Default Cold Weather -- problem shifting into last gear

2002 Tahoe - 75K mi. If temp. is at freezing or below (30 deg), truck has a hard time shifting into last gear. Truck is cranked and allowed to warm at least 15 min. before driving. Inside is usually pretty comfortable after 15 min. but engine seems to be a little cold natured.
Any have or had this problem?

I had a 2000Impala that did this. I would get right on an Interstate from work and if it was cold outside, it wouldn't upshift into the final gear for several miles. I believeit to be normal operation, perhaps linked to emissions.I don't think engine temp has anything to do with it.. I think its transmission temperature dependent.

Our old '03 did the same thing until it was driven and it warmed up enough. Webought it new and it did it untillast year when we sold it. The dealer said it wasa normal.
