Default Coolant Leak on '99 Tahoe

Folks:

I have a '99 Tahoe that I've been monitoring a coolant leak for the past couple of weeks now. Whenever After driving, and letting it sit for a while, I come back out to discover a damp spot on the front driver side. I check the radiator, and it is full to the gill. However, over this two week monitoring period, I had to add coolant to the overflow.

I did some checking around the engine and did not see a leak from from either hoses or the water pump. Anyone have any ideas on what other possble places the leak is coming from? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Usually those hard to find leaks only happened about 15-30 minutes after shutdown since the pressure builds up then due to no cooling taking place and the residual engine heat causing the water to heat up. Try checking for the leak about a half hour after you turn it off. My guess would be water pump (check the weep hole) or a hose. If it's a radiator leak, a bottle of Bar's works wonders.

The puddle from an intake manifold leak will more likelybe on the passenger side at the rear of the engine, not at the front on the driver's side.
