Default Detailing / Wax Questions

I have a 07 Tahoe and have had it hand waxed. The detailer told me that to protect the finish / paint against the Phoenix Arizona sun that I should have it waxed every six months. Does anyone agree with this or do you haveany other tips for preserving the paint / finish on your truck other than never driving it during the daytime?

TIA

Well I think there has been things on here about the quality of the paint. I would have to say that every 6 months sounds right. I have had mine for about 3 months and it already need a detail and a buff.

Six months is right for just about anywhere. Wouldn't want to go longer than that here in the Midwest.

I wax about every other hand wash, which is about once every two weeks.

I wish I had time to keep up with it like that.

The tahoe is so damn big, it takes forever to hand wax!

I found Dupont spray wax and the stuff is amazing

I am sponsered by meguiars for my 3 series show car and have TONS of their products, but this stuff is really amazing!

After you are here on this forum for a while you will see that big and shark get a little sarcastic sometimes. Its all in good fun - They both have a wealth of info to share and are very helpful.

I am not sure if shark was joking or not. Maybe he knows something about wax that we dont.

Shark, were you being sarcastic or were you saying that spray wax will leave a residue?
