I'm all for giving GM engineers credit. They've done amazing things.

Engineers build great cars. Accountants ruin them.

More specifically manager level people ordering them to 'cut costs'...

You can only cut so much. I'd rather raise quality and build a good product. Build something good and the profits will come.
