Disable Daytime Running Lights
#32
The DRT is not quite as simple as you suggest. I've owned my 2000 Tahoe since new and it has had the following DTR issue since new. 1st: the Ambient Light Sensor feature hasn't functioned since new. In the dark of night [even with a towel over the grill], the DTR activates. 2nd: DTR activates either the low or high beams depending on the position the low/high switch was left in. 3rd: I have never seen the actual DTR lamps on. Years ago, I checked the lamps & then pushed & pulled everything I could find just to see if there was some way to turn them on. The only feature that seems to work as designed is the button you press 4 times to extinguish the DTR. I took it to the dealer once and was told the vehicle appeared to have the snow-plow feature. Note I said ONCE. I decided pushing the button 4x suited me just fine.
