I'm wondering if anyone else has had trouble with the front door hinges rusting and sticking on your burb? mime started with the drivers side door sticking and making a heck of a noise when opening and closing the door. Its a covered warranty item but i have a deductible and they want $120.00 to replace it. it cost more to install and paint the part then it does to cover the $12.00 cost of the part. have any of you had this problem and if so is it something that can be done in my driveway for a heck of a lot cheaper?

 

yes it can be done in the drive way cheaper but you have to know what you are doing and have a helper

 

Had this on my 01 tahoe, sent to dearler service dept 2x and never was fixed. They supposedly greased the part inside the door but it never went away. Very aggrevating! I could never figure out how to get at the parts making the screaming noises without taking the door off, not something I would do.

 

Get some PB blaster and spay it while moving the door open and closed. Once the noise goes away spray with white lithium grease to prevent it from returning.

 

I had this problem on my 2007 Tahoe. Drivers and passenger door. It was covered just got it back from the dealer. It was a warranty covered item. No charge.
