When I insert DVD into slot the audio comes on but the screen is black.I have used the red button on the remote w/no success.Any ideas before I take back to dealer.

 

Are you using the remote power button while pointing it at the DVD overhead unit, not the in dash dvd/radio? It has to be directed to the overhead unit.

 

When I'm pointing it at the unit it will cycle through the menu (audio only) but it will not give me any picture. I have read through the manual and followed the directions given and still no picture.I have tried different dvd's to no avail.
It is probably something really silly that I'm missing but I cant find the answer.
I replaced the batteries in the remote still same issue..

 

A way to check any remote that uses IR is to look at it thru the LCD viewfinder on a digital camera while pressing a button on the remote. If working, it will appear as a white lite in the viewfinder.
