Default EGR Valve

I have a 2003 Suburban z71 package.

Its been suffering from declining mpg performance. I replaced the fuel filter, air filter, spark plug wires, and spark plugs and have no notable improvement.

I pulled out my handy dandy Haynes manual to research the EGR valve.

My car doesn't have an EGR valve where the Haynes manual says !???!

Some one told me that some cars have an EGR valve at the end of the manifold closest to the cabin. I can't see one there either.

Any suggestions on helping me find my missing EGR?

Thanks

Look on the emissions label under the hood . It lists the emissions options on a particular vehicle. Check this out, the yellow part on the sample label is where you need to look.
