Update: The instructions for this ARE in the 2014 owner's manual !!! I saw on a Frontier forum that these are called step rails, so I looked in the manual's index under "Step" and found the information. Good thing GM didn't also include an index listing for these under "running boards", might've cost them more ink !!!
