electrical issue
Someone please help! The power windows and windshield wipers continue to work in my 02 Tahoe even after the key is out, door has been opened, and the 10 minute delay has passed. It is causing my battery to drain and die on me. I have checked all fuses, relays, and even replaced the BCM. Any help would be awesome!!
Agree w/ in2pro. Are there any other circuits that still have power with the key out? Rear wipers, radio, washer pumps, etc... Power can be back-fed into the circuits from bad wiring.
I have taken everything apart and there are no obvious issues with the wiring. The person who owned the vehicle before me had an aftermarket CD player and remote start put in. I have taken all of that out, along with all of the extra wiring that it entailed. The only things that work while the vehicle is off & key is out are the power windows (All 4 of them), and the windshield wipers are fully functional.

I do not have a rear wiper on mine and the CD player that is in it now is still an after market CD player, just not the one that the previous owner had wired up. The wipers and windows all still work with the relays out. The relays do not click when pulled out or put back in. I even put new relays and fuses in but it did not fix anything.
What troubles me is if the wipers are working, then everything that is powered with the key in acc/run should also be powered-up (radio, dash, wiper, washer, widows...). Does the radio turn OFF with the key out? What fuse are you pulling to stop the power drain? Do you have a voltmeter or a 12V test light? With the key OFF and the door open, pull the RDO-1 fuse and the WS WPR fuse. Do the windows/wipers still work? Test the fuse sockets, do any of the fuse connectors show power? Then turn the key to ACC., re-check the fuse sockets. Which terminals now have power?
