Default Which engine

Been here 13 years but just read, never post, so here goes. I'm ordering a 2026 High Country Suburban next week and am not sure which engine to go with. Was going to get the 6.2 V8 and call it a day, but am wondering about the 305hp diesel. Any ideas? My dealer will let me pass once it gets here if I don't like it, but I'd like to try to pick the best option. Only worry with the diesel is the get up and go. I have a 2024 HD2500 (with a much larger engine), that I love, but understand the burb is getting the "baby diesel". Also assume it'll need DEF fluid.

do they still come with the AFM? if so i would avoid them if you can, from what i understand the older trucks engines like the 4.8 and 5.3 both have it but the 6.0 wont. i dont know if thats still true or not but avoid the afm if you can.

Good question...if you are looking for a reference point, my 2006 z71 w/ 5.3 l V8 only has 295hp & 335 lbft of torque. I would take the diesel over the gas engine in a blink, if it was offered. Also, I have seen some after market upgrades for tourbo diesels that would boost the HP even higher. Really depends if you need the HP more than the torque and reliability of a diesel over gas engine. -Would love to hear what you decide!
