Question EVAP problem but no codes

I am hoping someone can help me with this problem.

My 2003 Suburban 1500 (Z) will not clear its EVAP emissions monitor status but there are no OBD2 codes or CEL showing.

Twice previously (2 and 4 years ago) I have had to replace the Vent solenoid - mine is the small rectangular unit up by the rear axle - both times the units failed electrically and threw a code - this time nothing at all.

I have put over 1000 miles on the Suburban recently - so I am sure I have completed enough miles to clear the OBD drive cycle.

Thanks, PB

Welcome to the forum. What's the weather like where you are? The EVAP test will not be enabled if the ECT and IAT temperatures are over 86ºF at cold start. Then, even if it's enabled, it will not complete if the ambient temperature at the end of the drive is over 91ºF. There're other considerations but I think you may have to wait for cooler weather.

Wink

I am just outside Houston and it has been brutally hot, hovering in the 90's and 100's for weeks - I think you are spot-on, probably nothing actually wrong, it just cannot complete its checks.

Many thanks.

You're quite welcome. I figured the hot weather was the issue (what global warming?). Keeping my fingers crossed that it won't flag a problem once the test is run.
