EVO steering assist and power steering noise (not intermediate shaft)
Hello everyone!
I've got a guy with a 2001 suburban that's got a power steering issue. At anytime, all the time, in park or drive while running, when you turn the steering wheel, violent pulsing, knocking and groaning is heard. And that knock is violent sounding. When you let off the steering wheel all is good.
I've been researching this for days with very little luck. Did 2001 suburbans come with EVO? I'm wondering if the knocking that's heard is fluid trying to push past the solenoid and it's not opening or something.
i have very limited access/time to help so I'm trying to gather everything before helping. I know these types of questions are asked almost daily but my search results never land in the year range im looking for. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
