Default Extended Warranty on 2026 Tahoe LS 4WD 5.3L

I am purchasing a 2026 Tahoe LS 4WD with 5.3L engine. It comes with a 3yr/36K miles bumper to bumper warranty and 5yr/60K miles powertrain warranty. I'm looking into a 7yr/100K miles extended warranty (Premier Plus) costing $3500? The extended warranty covers most everything except consumable parts such as battery, bulbs, airbags (interestingly), rotors, springs, muffler, etc. I'm particularly concerned about lifters in the 5.3L engine. Opinions?

I wouldn't buy the extended warranty - on ANYTHING !!! Put that $3500 away in a separate account, and statistics show you'll come out ahead.

Consumer Reports, financial experts. mechanics all say same.

I agree with Cusser..My one and only experience with them was with a friend whose engine blew. First they wanted proof of all oil changes, then proof of anti freeze flushes, then trans, fluid changes. They look for any way out of paying a claim. Just a warning.

Surprised they didn't deny because of a weak hatch lift support !!! Or a tire 1 psi low on air !!!
