Default factory alarm

yesterday when i was driving i hit the lock button with my elbow twice in a row and my alarm went off as i was driving.. can anybody explain this or is this normal??

I had a Cadillac with a factory alarm that I think would do something similar. If you locked the doors with the remote so that the alarm was set, you couldn't unlock or open the car from inside or it would set off the alarm. Since breaking out a windowwould notset off the alarm, that was their way of keeping someone fromreaching inand hitting the door open button.

I can't remember if it worked at anytime or just when the ignition was off.
