Default N2 in tires

Has anyone tried running nitrogen in their tires? With the new pressure sensors, it would seem to be a good idea to get the moisture outby usingnitorgen. Also I think nitrogen will keep a more stable pressure from cold to hot. The only problem is finding a nitrogen filling station. Comments?

I'm a manager at an industrial gas supplier in NJ. We have a Nitrofill station at my facility that we are trying to market to the large tire shops and local dealers. It is pretty cool because it does all four tires at the same timewith the ability to do six. It lets out all theair then fills with nitrogen. It then lets out air/n2 mix and refills with n2 again. You will get about a 98/2 mix with the initial fill.I have filled my 07 Burb with N2. Both my 17" factory tires and my 22" aftermarket tires. You don't lose psi like you do with air. This in turn will help ou thread life on tires.

My dealer already had Nitrofill in my tires when I purchased my Tahoe. I am not sure why it came that way, but I did not complain.

It seems to hold consistent tire pressure very well.

I am not sure if I would have paid extra for it, but I dont think it hurts to get the moisture out of the tires for the reasons you stated. My dealer is close by and the nitrofill station is out front of the service department, so its in and out in 10 minutes. If for some reason you need to fill your tires later, you can still use regular air mixed with the nitro, but they recommend draining the tires and refilling with nitro as time permits.

The tire dept at Costco also uses N2 to fill tires. Just thought I'd share that.

I think I would like to try N2. I think it would be to my advantage to do the N2 thing for my vette since it sits a lot and loses air while doing so. I'll have to see if there is a filling station nearby. Thanks for the comments.

78% of our ambient air is Nitrogen, so you're paying for 22%?

Yup....which it typically 50% saturated with water. Pure Nitrogen is just that.....Nitrogen.

So, for those of you running nitrogen in the tires of your '07 'Hoes, how do you re-learn the tire locations in DIC after getting them rotated? Letting out nitrogen and filling back up with "regular" air to relearn the positions seems to defeat the purpose of filling completely with nitrogen.
