Cool Fan switch blues

Hi all. I have 1999 1/2 ton 4x4 Suburban with a 5.7. For one reason or another it eats fan (blower speed) control switches at a rate of 2 per year. What I notice when I replace it is that one of the terminals is discolored from heat on the pigtail that plugs into the switch. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and if it is a regular GM problem or if I just got un-lucky. I would like to think maybe the ground on the blower motor is weak and is making the wire to or from the switch hot.?????????????

May be a bad connector which creates resistance and gets hot due to the voltage drop across the connector.

OK, when I take it apart.......again, I'll take a good look at the pig-tail that plugs into it. I have to admit I never really took a good look at the connector. It just looks to nice and I generally think of bad connection and things like that on older cars and not the more modern ones.

Thanks,
